CPCS ReActivation

Re-Activation / Reinstatement of the CPCS credential:

  • Twelve (12) hours of clinical supervision training (see below for a breakdown of the required CE's)
    - Required: 5 or 6 CE credits in Supervision Ethics / Documentation 
    - 5 or 6 CE credits in Supervision topics of your choice 
      - 1 CE credit for the CPCS Re-Activation Exam
      - All CE's must have been earned within the past 3 years
  • Take and pass the CPCS Re-Activation Exam
  • Reinstatement application
  • Include your CPCS number
  • Reinstatement fee (see page on Fee Schedule)

STEP 1 - Required Training  (Total of 12 CE Hours)

SUGGESTED CONTENT AREAS FOR RECERTIFICATION:

Ethics / Documentation (minimum 6 CE Hours): This content area includes:

  • Updates of the laws and rules- STRONGLY SUGGESTED
  • Updates on documentation including applications, session notes, evaluations, etc.

Implementation of Supervision: This content area includes:

  • Methods / Foundations of supervision, Telehealth techniques, etc.
  • Case scenarios

Case Scenarios: This content area includes:

  • Each attendee will provide an outline of their own individual plan for clinical supervision
  • Case scenarios/role plays, managing difficult supervisees, unusual situations, board complaints, etc.

**Be sure to check the Unrecognized CE Providers to ensure your CE's will count toward your Recertification.**

STEP 2 - The Re-Activation Exam

  • Take and pass the Exam
  • A score of at least 85%
  • OPEN BOOK and Untimed
  • May take up to three times (LPCA prep course required after 3 attempts)

STEP 3 - Complete the Re-Activation Application 

  • Fill out the Re-Activation Application (you will need your CPCS #)
  • Gather your Supervision CE Certificates
  • Be sure to upload your CPCS Exam certificate
  • Pay fees and submit application
