What is CPCS?A CPCS is a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. The CPCS Program was developed from the Approved List of Supervisor in the early 1999's at the request of the LPCA Board of Directors to improve the quality of clinical supervisors. |
Where do I get CPCS Workshops? Easy, check the LPCA website, www.LPCAGA.org Look for the tab marked Career & Training. On the drop down menu, click CE workshops Or for more information, sign the request form . Detailed information will be sent to you. | How do you get the CPCS designation? Licensed as an LPC, Georgia License, LPC, for at least 3 years (O.C.G.A. 43-10A- the law) Three (3) years post licensure (doesn’t matter if Masters, Specialist, Doctorate) We encourage/recommend 1 year of supervision by a pre-qualified certified Trainer. What does a CPCS do?
The licensing board requires future mental health professionals to have over 105+ hours of clinical supervision in order to become licensed. The LPC Supervisor is required to be certified.
There is a shortage of trained clinical supervisors which is why this certifications so important.
