Approved TeleSupervisor (ATS) Certification
What is the Approved TeleSupervision (ATS) Credential? This credential and curricula have been developed by the CCALP Board of Directors and LPCA in conjunction with experts in the field of TeleMental Health and electronically delivered clinical supervision. The purpose is to set a nationwide standard for the administration of TeleSupervision. Why is this needed? Clinical TeleSupervision is a rapidly growing field spanning multiple mental health disciplines. Many Supervisors now see their supervisees remotely. With the Counseling Compact coming into effect, there is a need for a nationwide standard. This new credential is designed to meet this need. Who Needs This Credential? The ATS credential is designed for mental health professionals who provide clinical supervision to supervisees via telecommunication platforms such as video conferencing, telephone, or online chat. And for those supervising future professionals who are providing therapy via telecommunication platforms. As the field of clinical telesupervision continues to grow, the ATS credential offers a standardized measure of competency for supervisors and reassurance for supervisees, employers, government agencies, and others. It serves as an asset for mental health professionals seeking to expand their practice and remain current in the evolving landscape of telemental health. |
